A View Template cannot have the same name as a View

Yeah, funky stuff. But kinda makes sense - the way it is "under the hood" if you take View Template and any other View that you find in the browser - as far as Revit is concerned - they are both "Views" just some properties are different.

I think you can. Make the View Template name first, then make the View name.
